For those of you on the East Coast, there’s now a weeHouse on Seneca Lake in New York that’s available for rent. The Finger Lakes prefab features a bamboo interior, Kohler fixtures, Anderson windows, and a small footprint carrying 1,000 square feet of space. That’s two bedrooms and two bathrooms and pretty much all the relaxation one could handle.
A few months ago, Alchemy set this weeHouse in Dundee, New York, and it's now complete. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom home sits at the end of a private road on Seneca Lake. On the exterior, the prefab has corrugated steel siding, while on the interior, there's bamboo flooring and wall wrap, doors and windows made with FSC-certified wood, and Energy Star appliances.
I first noticed this genuine weeHouse on Mrs. French's site last month (see here, here, and here). The Oceanside Prefab, as it's know, is on a picturesque spot on the Oregon coast and available for rent should you have any interest. The home was assembled with two 14' x 50' modules by Stratford Homes and designed by none other than Alchemy Architects.
A couple weeks ago, we mentioned you can buy the McGlasson weeHouse in Duluth, Minnesota, and now we have news that a weeHouse STUDIO is for sale — for the crazy price of $48,000. It's currently located in Siren, Wisconsin, but the buyer can have it shipped anywhere the land will take you for $1,000, plus about $7 per mile. The 324 square-foot pad is just perfect as an artist retreat, guest/bunk house, yoga studio, or freelance workspace.
If you've ever wanted to live in a modern prefab and you're interested in living about thirty minutes north of Duluth, Minnesota, now might be your chance. In 2005, Alchemy Architects designed this seasonal cabin of roughly 840 square feet, and after that, it became a hit in the national media. I noticed it in Kiplinger's of all places! The McGlasson weeHouse has two bedrooms, one and three-quarters bathrooms, a roof deck, and a detached sauna.
