This is short notice, but readers near Toronto may be interested in knowing that the latest miniHome by Sustain Design Studio, the Bunkie 36, will be at the Fall Cottage Life Show this weekend from October 26-28, 2012, at the Toronto International Centre. The 420 square-foot cabin starts in price from about $87,500 (well-equipped) and can be permitted as an accessory building in Canada.
This is Canada’s first LivingHome, and it’s located on 20 Senlac Road in Toronto, Ontario. The home, registered for LEED and seeking LEED Platinum certification, is complete and furnished, though the exterior still needs landscaping. The modern prefab LivingHome was developed by Nexterra Green Homes, a company that builds individual and enclave homes that are modern, upscale, and environmentally friendly.
Reader Randall Otulakowski walks around town in Toronto scavenging for gems thrown away by others in the community. You’ve probably already seen miniHome – a small, mobile, eco-friendly prefab built with clean lines and modern elements – which has been featured all over the news and television. Sustain Design Studio, a Toronto firm behind the home, just launched a redesigned miniHome to be built in the company’s newly established factory in Bracebridge, Ontario. The new miniHome is lighter, better, and more affordable.
This 566-square foot modern home sits on an infill lot in Toronto and has been getting a lot of attention in the last few months. That’s partially in response to the design and maybe some general interest in small homes — this one is roomy for an urban condo but small for a single-family house. The owner, Patrick Flynn, wanted something modern, low-maintenance, and minimalist and this place is all of those things.
