This tiny modern studio is sited on a woodsy lot in Slough, UK. It was designed and built by in.it studios and has about 400 square feet (37 square meters) with a lounge, bedroom, and bathroom. The company told us in an email that they prefabricated the studio with a high-performance wall, roof, and floor assembly and an exterior of cedar cladding.
The Slough home features timber construction with timber window and door frames. The timber is either FSC or PEFC certified; the insulation is rigid polyurethane with a foil backing; and the windows have two layers of glazing.
in.it studios offers several sizes of these prefab structures. They can be used for an extension, studio, office, or a home.
Although the pricing of this home has been withheld, some general pricing is listed on in.it studios’ site with tax, delivery, and installation included. Stated pricing is based on the company’s standard model and doesn’t include the electrical connection or kitchen and bathroom work.

Wow. I wouldn’t care living in the woods with a studio like this.
This is a great project. The setting and the pictures certainly help it along, but it’s smart, clean and well proportioned. I would think that rainwater harvesting, greywater, or even PVs could be integrated into that wealth of flat roof space, only decreasing the house’s foot print. As an architect, I would unquestionably camp out in one of these.
Based on the location, I think that installing some type of air curtain above the entry door would allow the owners to leave the door open to enjoy the outdoors while not having to deal with a tremendous amount of insects. At any rate, this is a great project.
