The Getaway startup from Boston has recently unveiled their newest creation, a tiny retreat called Lorraine. This off-the-grid cabin is meant to be a comfy writer’s retreat for up to two people, offering the occupants a distraction free and inspiring space in which to create.

Tiny House That’s Actually a Mobile Classroom and Community Center

There have been a lot of tiny houses popping up lately, but this one is not actually a home. Zee Kesler of Vancouver, BC built her tiny house as a tiny community center, classroom, or artists residency. It is fully mobile, so it can be moved around on a whim.

Home Built out of Repurposed Concrete Blocks

Innovative Tree-Like Homes

The architecture firm OAS1S from Holland has come up with a unique proposal for a community of small houses, which would be built to resemble trees. The dwellings would all be made from recycled wood, and would function completely off-the-grid. These homes would be called “treescrapers” and the designers envision that once they are built, it would be like walking through a forest in the middle of an urban area.
