Here’s a time-lapse video of one of the first Huf Haus prefabs in the country. Offered through Cleveland-based DotGreen, these homes are precision built in Germany and shipped in containers to the project site. Then, with the help of the local architect, in this case Sage Designs NW, the general contractor, Schmoes Construction, and the structural engineer, Visser Engineering, the timber-frame prefab is assembled.

The program honors builders and remodelers who incorporate energy efficiency in the design, construction, and marketing of their homes, and this home was built in Olympia, Washington by Scott Homes with some high-performance features to go with a traditional design.
So, what do you get when you sandwich a plywood bamboo material called PlyBoo with two sheets of a paper-composite called Richlite? Stratum, a new countertop material made through a venture between Smith & Fong and Richlite Company. The material was inspired by nature and the majestic basalt cliffs of Palouse Canyon in eastern Washington.
As mentioned a few months ago, Massachusetts- and California-based Blu Homes recently undertook the construction of a new Glidehouse prefab on Vashon Island in Washington. The home was built in a factory and shipped to the island — by ferryboat, there are no bridges — where it was later unpacked for finishing various site details. Here are a few photos of the completed home.
This is the next generation of the popular Glidehouse, a home design originally created by Michelle Kaufmann that was later acquired by Blu Homes. Blu tweaked the design to fit the company’s custom fold-up system of construction, and this is the first, new Glidehouse to be delivered.
