[Video] Leo Marmol on Green Prefab

Damien Somerset and Nicole Bassett of Shift33 put together this video interview with Leo Marmol, innovator of green prefab.   Definitely worth a view.   I’ve always been an advocate of green prefab, because I think it’s where the green building revolution is going in the future.   What do you think?

How To Videos for Green Living [Howcast]

Recently, I saw this article about Howcast and was quite intrigued by the startup company.  Howcast is run by ex-Googlers with the intent of becoming the YouTube of instructional videos.  It’s a good idea, I think.  After reading the article, I thought, it’d be nice to see videos on eco-friendly home renovations.  Green kitchen rehabs.  Eco-friendly landscaping.  Do it yourself energy audits.  Etc.  Well, Howcast is already publishing some good green living and environmental instructional videos.  You’ll find the videos helpful in that they tell you what you need, provide printable instructions, and allow you to skip to different steps in the video.  Here are a couple others.

[Video] William McDonough on Natural World Design

This is a brand spanking new video of the inspiring William McDonough speaking at the World Future Energy Summit in January 2008.  He wrote the book on this topic — and it’s made of plastic for a reason.  In the video, McDonough talks about taking action:  Less bad is not good.  Efficiency per se won’t cut it.  This is high quality, unmissable video.  You may find the following links helpful as you listen:

[RSS Readers - Click to View] This video was just uploaded yesterday and it’s nice to hear Ed Mazria explain Architecture 2030 in his own words.  We’re talking about the architecture and building community response to climate change.  You’ll remember that Mazria garnered mainstream media attention last year with the insightful, poignant phrase, "If you want to stop global warming, stop coal."  As Mazria explains in the video, there are a few ways to stop coal … watch and enjoy the weekend.
