Tiny Home Fits Family of Three

Tiny homes are considered too small for families by many, but some are still making it work. Like the couple living in this 400 sq ft home with their baby and dog. Their home was designed by Tiny Portable Cedar Cabins of Idaho.

The so-called Urban Cabin measure s12 ft by 28 ft, and showcases a wonderful blend of rustic and modern elements, complete with a shed-style roof. It’s also quite mobile, since it is considered a park model RV, meaning it’s possible to move it using a semi-trailer truck. Sol Pod Makes a Great Workspace

Vina Lustado, a designer from California recently created a quaint tiny studio. It’s a mobile (towable) structure, which can serve many purposes, such as an additional workspace, home office, guesthouse, or even vacation cabin. Couple Build a Fun Tiny Home

Samantha and Robert, a couple hailing from Yakima, Washington, recently built their first home together. They both enjoy an adventurous lifestyle, from backpacking through Europe and South America, to road tripping across the US, so moving into a tiny home will be just another adventure for them. Samantha is a nurse, and Robert is an architectural designer. They both work full time, and it took them about 14 months to complete the home in their free time. (more…)

Tiny House That Doesn’t Look it

Scandinavian design is well known for its simple aesthetics and minimalism, and this cabin located in the Jutland area of Denmark is a prime example of that. It is small, with a footprint of just 258 square feet (24 sq m) yet it looks and feels very cozy. Personally, I think it could easily be a full time tiny home, and not just a vacation house. (more…)

First Kasita Prototype Complete

Kasita is an innovative housing solution designed by Dr. Jeff Wilson and environmental science professor from Texas. The first Kasita unit has recently been completed and can be viewed in Austin, Texas. Kasita apartments are prefab housing units, which can stand on their own as tiny homes, or be inserted into steel racks to form larger structures such as the one pictured above. (more…)

Modern Tiny Home Doesn’t Skimp on Comfort

Who says all tiny homes are cute wooden houses? The so-called “Serena” tiny home is certainly a lot edgier than that. And more modern. It is currently located in Atlanta, Georgia, but it’s up for sale.

The Serena measures 224 square feet and features two French doors, one on either side, that allow plenty of light to flood the interior, aid ventilation, and make the home feel more spacious than it is. The angled wall also provides an overhang and a small porch, which looks big enough to fit a lounge chair. (more…)
