Synergy is a design for an affordable, cold-climate Passive House by Tim Eian of TE Studio, the firm behind the first Passive House in Wisconsin. Eian says Synergy is “a beacon for the 21st century renaissance of residential high-performance design.“ In other words, this is a home for everyone: it’s traditional, comfortable, light-filled, and attainable.
Last April we mentioned a noteworthy project called the Passive House in the Woods. It’s a Wisconsin home with carbon-neutral ambitions designed by Tim Delhey Eian of TE Studio. It’s also the first Passive House in the state. PHitW meets the requirements of the Passive House standard, i.e. ultra-tight envelope, high efficiency heating and cooling, and minimal energy demand.
It’s interesting to see Passive Houses — like the Breezeway House in Millcreek, Utah — gain more and more recognition in both the mainstream media and design and construction circles. Another project worth keeping an eye on, Passive House in the Woods, is quietly moving forward with carbon neutral ambitions and a goal to be the first Passive House in the state of Wisconsin.
