At first glance this home would be easy to confuse for a shipping container home, but it’s not. It was built using structural insulated panels (SIPs) by former boat builder and carpenter Jeff Hobbs of Room To Move. Cabin Manufacturing Incorporated, a firm based in Fort Scott, Kansas specializes in designing and building small, high-end mobile hunting lodges. The Bushwacker is one such tiny lodge, and comes with a number of bells and whistles, which especially hunters will like. New and Cleaner Method of Recycling Plastic Discovered

There’s probably no need to remind you that plastic is extremely harmful to our environment, and that the current methods of recycling might be doing more harm than good. So when breakthroughs in the latter are made it’s always good news. This has now been achieved by a team of scientists from the University of California, Irvine (UCI), and the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC) in China. Modular Home Made of Cardboard

Nido House is yet another pretty tiny home made from cardboard, a building material that seems to be catching on lately. This home can function off-the-grid, since it’s equipped with a solar power system and a rainwater recovery system, among other things, and it is available in various sizes and designs. It was created by Italian architect Francesca Fadalti and her business partner Michela Romano. (more…)

Shipping Container Recycled Into a Cozy Home

It’s been awhile since we featured a shipping container home on this site, but this recently completed project by the tiny home company Walker Wilderness Enterprises from Brighton, Colorado deserves a mention.
