Trailer Based Tiny Home


A British Columbia-based homebuilder Nelson Tiny Houses recently completed this unique 380-square-foot house. They used a fifth-wheel utility trailer as the base for it and created a comfortable and spacious dwelling. The home is called V House and it features a comfortable sitting area, kitchen, a bedroom, and a bathroom. There is also a wide wooden deck that successfully extends the living area into the outdoors. (more…)

Modular Home Made of Cardboard


Nido House is yet another pretty tiny home made from cardboard, a building material that seems to be catching on lately. This home can function off-the-grid, since it’s equipped with a solar power system and a rainwater recovery system, among other things, and it is available in various sizes and designs. It was created by Italian architect Francesca Fadalti and her business partner Michela Romano. (more…)

Wine Shop Made of Shipping Containers


It’s been awhile since we talked about shipping container architecture, but this wine shop is about to change that. Especially since Australia-based Cumulus Studio, the firm that designed it, created a modern architecture masterpiece. Replacing a Wall With Shutters


It’s always great to see dwellings where the separation between the indoor and outdoor space is so minimal it hardly exists. One great example of that is this cottage in Utrecht, which features shutters along one entire wall. When these shutters are opened, light floods the interior of this cottage, and what’s more, they built it atop an existing foundation of another structure that once stood here. (more…)

Caravan Becomes a Lovely Tiny Home


We’ve seen trailers turned into tiny homes, so using a caravan for the same purpose is obviously not that big a stretch. Plus, caravans have the added bonus of being more whimsical in that it just takes you back to those fun carnivals you visited as a kid. At least that’s how I feel about them. (more…)

Another Ingenious Renovation
