Dwell Developments is seeking to rectify this via their new development in Seattle, the so-called Live/Work. These are a home-office hybrid and were designed to make working from home more comfortable and better for the environment.

Sustainable Wooden Home

Living small isn’t for everyone, but this wooden house is a prime example of just how an open plan design and plenty of large windows can make a home appear more spacious than it is. This home was designed by Check firm ASGK Design and is located in the eastern part of Bohemia, in the Czech Republic.

Prefab Apartments for the Homeless

The Y:Cube, a prefab modular block of apartments has just been completed in London. It will provide comfortable and affordable units for the city’s homeless. Being modular and prefabricated offsite, the constructions costs can be kept low, so the rent will be about 65 percent of the market rate for similar apartments. (more…)
