This is short notice, but readers near Toronto may be interested in knowing that the latest miniHome by Sustain Design Studio, the Bunkie 36, will be at the Fall Cottage Life Show this weekend from October 26-28, 2012, at the Toronto International Centre. The 420 square-foot cabin starts in price from about $87,500 (well-equipped) and can be permitted as an accessory building in Canada.
HMK Prefab Homes, in conjunction with Sustain Design Studios, debuted a new miniHome design called the CaliMini Solo 1 at the recent Dwell on Design conference in Los Angeles. The pictures and exterior staging don’t appear to do justice to the ever-popular miniHome, but the below video of the Solo provides a better impression, I think. This design, unlike the chassis-based designs we’ve seen from Sustain, is built to the modular code and includes a 616-square-foot interior, 140-square-foot loft, and a 140-square-foot deck.
Sustain Design Studio, creator of the original and enormously popular miniHome, recently announced a new design called caliMini made specifically for the western United States. CaliMini will be built in California and offered in four models ranging in size from about 611 – 1,190 square feet (not counting the loft). Plus, one of these eco-friendly, contemporary homes will be on display at Dwell on Design 2012 in June, according to Sustain.
