Method Homes, a Seattle-based manufacturer of green prefab homes, recently introduced two new home lines, the Option Series and Elemental Series. The former was created in collaboration with Seattle-based Grouparchitect and the latter was created in collaboration with Seattle-based PB Elemental. Both lines offer flexibility in the form of multiple configurations and can be built from the $130s per square foot.
Cascade Built just announced a new single-family home in the Madison Valley neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. “Alley House 2″ was designed by Seattle-based David Foster Architects and is currently under construction by Method Homes in an off-site factory. The project team is seeking LEED Platinum certification with completion set for about October 2011.
It’s been a while since we last mentioned Method Homes, but the company has built a number of green prefabs recently that deserve some mention. Last December, the company installed this modern modular home, referred to as m2, on a picturesque mountain site in Glacier, Washington.
Almost two years ago, we mentioned the first prefab cabin built by Method Homes near Mt. Baker, Washington. Now, after considerable time and research, the same company has teamed up with Skylab Architecture to create an additional and innovative line of prefab homes called Homb. The name of the endeavor signals an interesting aspect of these new green prefab homes.
About a year ago, we first brought you news of Method Homes and their plan to build a prefab cabin in Glacier, Washington. And they built the inaugural Method Cabin in about three months. Now, Method Homes, in collaboration with Balance Architects, is officially launching the Balance S-M-L Series of prefab designs with three main models: small, medium, and large. Of note, these prefab models have been designed to arrive 95% complete within three months of purchase. The models range in size from 540 to 856 square feet, and in price from $98,000 to $148,000.
