Sneak Peak: Venice Live/Work House

Venice Live/work

How about kicking out a shout to the newly established blog by EcoSteel?  I was emailing with EcoSteel’s Kelvin Findlay about their new projects and the blog came up.  So I start looking through the first few posts and, of course, this Venice Live/Work home caught my eye.  I mean, how can it not?  Apparently the home is ready to go in California and EcoSteel is bidding out the contractor work at the moment.

The Second Annual Plenty Twenty

Plenty20

I always find these lists interesting, but here’s the idea: "There are game-changers and then there are world-changers.  From Internet giants working to make renewable energy cheaper than coal, to a sea captain monitoring the ocean’s plastic waste, to the growth of intentional communities (they’re not just for hippies anymore)—welcome to Plenty’s second annual list honoring (in no particular order) 20 dynamic individuals and 20 pioneering companies that are bettering the planet, plus 10 innovative ideas that will revolutionize how we live."

Must Follow Green Twitter Feeds

Twitter logo

The venerable HuffPo just posted a list of what they call the "Best Green Twitter Feeds."  It’s an okay list, but when you name streams like @Sprig (13 total updates and nothing in 7 days), @globalwarming (sporadic tweets with nothing in 7 days), and @greennews (sporadic tweets and nothing in 12 days), it’s tough to take the list seriously.  No offense Sprig, GlobalWarming, and GreenNews.  HuffPo’s list includes some stalwarts, don’t get me wrong, but when you assume the title of "Best," you have to bring it.  You have to name more than sixteen or seventeen Twitter* feeds.  Right?

Anyway, here’s my list (not a "best" list, just a list) of environmental and green related twitter folks that you might be interested in following.  To clear the air, we’re @jetsongreen.  Some of the following are no different than straight blog feeds.  Some are mixed blog feeds with conversation.  Others are pure conversation.

Re-Nest Hearts Us, We Heart Back!

Jetson Green - Blogging the Green Building Revolution

There’s a lot of positive stuff going on for Jetson Green these days and we’re sure having fun keeping up.  Just this week, Stephanie from Apartment Therapy’s Re-Nest gave me the grill on various green building topics and posted the “Green People” Q&A today.  We talk about my biggest green inspiration, my biggest green frustration, promising green building products, my favorite green building project, and finish it up with some green advice.  Don’t miss the advice part — you seriously need it!  Thanks Re-Nest!

JG Writers Make Top Green Girls & Guys Lists!

EarthFirst - Jetson Green

Well, I just want to kick out a shout to the writers at EarthFirst — they’ve found a way to make us blush not just once, but twice.  Much to my surprise, I was invited on their list of Top 25 Hottest Guys in Green: 10 We Missed Last Time (scroll down to #7).  No worries, though, I’m working my way up the list, so hopefully you’ll find me on the original Top 25 next year — maybe somewhere between Brad Pitt and Leonardo Dicaprio?!  But enough about me, how about Jetson Green contributor extraordinaire Sarah Meredith Roe!  She made their list of Top 25 Hottest Girls in Green: 10 We Missed the First Time (scroll down to #3).  Sarah beat out green belles such as Sheryl Crow, KT Turnstall, Amber Valetta, and Norah Jones, just to name a few.  If that doesn’t make a green writer blush, I’m not sure what does.  Thanks EarthFirst for thinking of Jetson Green!
