I mentioned the Lindal Architects Collaborative in connection with the Taliesin Mod.Fab, but here’s another situation where the LAC comes into play. As background, LAC matches architects with the Lindal building system and dealer network, and architects get a new platform for their home designs through the Collaborative.
The original Mod.Fab installed on the grounds of Taliesin West will live again thanks to a new endeavor between Lindal Cedar Homes and both the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture and Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. Thus, Mod.Fab will be available anywhere there’s a Lindal dealer, except the plan is also available in an additional exterior finish and in two larger sizes, 680 and 790 square feet.
Bob Lindal is the President of Lindal Cedar Homes, and his company is probably the largest provider of custom cedar homes in the country. Bob has been in the business for about 50 years, and today published a letter on the company blog. Lindal explains that he’s seen several recessions before, but this one is different. Prior recoveries retained the status quo, but “this emerging recovery is into a fundamentally changed world with new long-term priorities in housing.”
