Gorgeous Furniture Made from Recycled Plastic


The design firm Reform Studio from Cairo, Egypt has come up with a brilliant way to upcycle plastic bags. They are turning them into beautiful furniture using Egyptian handlooms and traditional techniques. The aim of the people behind the project is to find ways in which modern design can be used to solve the world’s problems, one of which is certainly the alarming surplus of plastic bags discarded every day. And what’s more, through their project they are keeping alive Egypt’s rapidly disappearing traditional practice of hand weaving. (more…)

Caravan Becomes a Lovely Tiny Home


We’ve seen trailers turned into tiny homes, so using a caravan for the same purpose is obviously not that big a stretch. Unique Way to Bring Nature into Your Home


Wouldn’t it be nice to have a relaxing green oasis right in your living room, which you could retreat to whenever you wished to, come rain or shine? Well, now you can…sort of. Alexandra Kehayoglou makes rugs, which are designed to resemble and feel like lush nature scenes. She makes these rugs using recycled scraps of carpet thread that she collects from a carpet factory that is owned by her family in Buenos Aires, Argentina. (more…)

Quaint Tiny Home Trailer


We’ve seen a lot of tiny homes over the years, but what really sets this one apart is the seamless blending of the old and the new. The French company La Tiny House designed their creation based on the classic Airstream trailer, which is why they name it the Tiny Stream house. It’s not an exact copy of the Airstream, but the general shape of it is quite unique and definitely sets it apart from the rest of the offerings on the market. (more…)
