Vertical Garden at Spanish Hotel Ushüaia is a Green Air Conditioning System

This living wall vertical garden at Hotel Ushüaia de Ibiza in Ibiza, Spain was designed by Urbanarbolismo who were assisted in the construction by Alicante forestal and Alijardín, and was the first greenwall garden system of its type.

Ceramic terracotta containers are interconnected but can retain unique substrates and vegetation. and porosity of the terracotta permits exchange of humidity. Drip and hand irrigation methods accommodate varying watering schedules.

1970s-Era Toledo Building Transformation Achieves LEED Platinum

This 1970s-era neo-classical building underwent significant transformations to achieve LEED Platinum certification, but the architects, Duket Architects and Centerbrook Architects and Planners, were tasked with retaining the original facade, which was thought of as a local landmark.

The World’s Greenest Commercial Building Now Leasing for Spring 2013 Opening

Seattle’s Bullitt Center, a project of the Bullitt Foundation, has been designed to take the spot as the most energy efficient commercial building on the planet and put Seattle on “the forefront of the green building movement,” according to the project’s website.

With the first floor already leased to the International Living Future Institute and the University of Washington Integrated Design Lab, the remaining five floors of this 50,000 square foot green building are now available to lease in advance of its planned opening this spring.

7 Bryant Park Aims to Offer LEED Gold Office Spaces in Manhattan

New York has just welcomed luxurious green office tower 7 Bryant Park to its streets, with Mayor Michael Bloomberg leading a groundbreaking ceremony on February 26. Designed by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, the building will cover 470,000 square feet of LEED Gold certified office space.
