The Y:Cube, a prefab modular block of apartments has just been completed in London. It will provide comfortable and affordable units for the city’s homeless. Innovative Tree-Like Homes

The architecture firm OAS1S from Holland has come up with a unique proposal for a community of small houses, which would be built to resemble trees. The dwellings would all be made from recycled wood, and would function completely off-the-grid. These homes would be called “treescrapers” and the designers envision that once they are built, it would be like walking through a forest in the middle of an urban area.

Sure House is More Than Just Sustainable

Floating City-State to be Built by 2020

The Seasteading Institute along with several investors, are proposing the building of a floating city-state, which could serve a variety of purposes. For one, it could be used as a real life environment for trying out new models of government, as well as serve a host of other functions when it comes to preserving and bettering the world we live in.
