Nido House is yet another pretty tiny home made from cardboard, a building material that seems to be catching on lately. This home can function off-the-grid, since it’s equipped with a solar power system and a rainwater recovery system, among other things, and it is available in various sizes and designs. Shipping Container Recycled Into a Cozy Home

It’s been awhile since we featured a shipping container home on this site, but this recently completed project by the tiny home company Walker Wilderness Enterprises from Brighton, Colorado deserves a mention. It is called Container Tiny House and can even be taken off-the-grid. It makes for a great vacation home, though it could also easily be used as a full time residence. (more…)

Solar-powered Teardrop Trailer

Trailers are fun to take a holiday in, and the teardrop shaped ones are cool from the inside out. This trailer, designed by the startup Homegrown Trailers of Woodinville, WA is made of wood, which gives it an extra bit of charm. It’s also large enough to be considered a tiny house and can function completely off-the-grid, while it is also built using renewable materials. (more…)

Couple Build a Tiny Home for Only $300

Some time ago, Alyssa Craft and Jesse Stafford bought a piece of land in the Pacific Northwest, with the hopes of securing a mortgage-free future for themselves, and escape the hectic toil of modern city life. They’ve been living in a trailer, while they build a homestead on the property, but in an effort to live more comfortably, they also built a small cabin, which only cost $300 to construct. (more…)
