Billboard Homeless Shelters Might Soon be a Reality

In early 2014 the company DesignDevelop proposed Project Gregory, which involved building shelters around billboards. This would allow the shelters to rent out advertising space and use the money to finance their running costs. The company now says they could build the first such shelter by early 2015.

Lovely Tiny Home in the Middle of the Forest

Carpenter Dave Herrle, based in Westbrook, Connecticut recently built this tiny, beautiful house deep in the woods. Him and his wife already live in it, seeing as both are environmentally conscious and wish to live as sustainably as possible. The cottage is also very romantic, from its old world interior details to its gorgeous natural surroundings.

UK-based Hivehaus, led by designer Barry Jackson recently unveiled their first modular home, also called Hivehaus, which is a modular home inspired by the hexagonal shape of the beehive. The basic unit becomes a simple, tiny home, but it can also be expanded on any of its six sides to form a unique and spacious family home.

A Prefab Tiny House Retreat

Vivood, a Spanish architecture group, designed a tiny prefabricated house of the same name, which can be assembled in only about nine hours. Once assembled, it can be used as a guesthouse, retreat, or even a tiny home. When ordered, the prefabricated Vivood comes in easy to assemble modular parts, which already have all the necessary plumbing and electrics installed.
