EPA to Label Home Irrigation Controls

You’re shutting off water, raking leaves, and probably don’t have the slightest concern for irrigation control. But, keep in mind for Spring 2012, the EPA recently announced that irrigation controllers will be the first outdoor product eligible for the WaterSense label. To date, WaterSense has been available for showerheads, toilets, urinals, sink faucets, and entire homes.

Numi is a Smart Luxe WaterSense Toilet

Wisconsin-based Kohler recently unveiled Numi – the company’s most advanced toilet to date — according to a press release.  Numi meets CALGreen requirements, is WaterSense certified, and has two flush alternatives with .6 and 1.28 gallons per flush.  But it also does a lot more than conserve water.

The Nation’s First WaterSense Homes

KB Home announced the completion of four energy-efficient homes in the Springwood community in the City of Roseville, California.  What’s noteworthy, you might agree, is the fact that they’re the first in the nation to receive the WaterSense label.  And KB Home intends to complete every home in the community to the same standard, making it the first in the country to do so.
