Teragren, one of the largest manufacturers of bamboo materials based in North America, recently expanded the popular Portfolio line of floating, strand bamboo flooring with the addition of “Portfolio Naturals.“ The four new looks — Java, Chestnut, Wheat, and Brindle — have been favorites in other Teragren product lines and expand a Portfolio line that’s quick to install.
So, what do you get when you sandwich a plywood bamboo material called PlyBoo with two sheets of a paper-composite called Richlite? Stratum, a new countertop material made through a venture between Smith & Fong and Richlite Company. The material was inspired by nature and the majestic basalt cliffs of Palouse Canyon in eastern Washington.
Cali Bamboo is now offering a new product, BamDeck, which is a composite material made with 100% recycled content — 60% recycled bamboo fibers, 40% recycled plastics. It’s twice as dense and strong as the leading competitor, according to Cali Bamboo, and doesn’t require sealing, painting, or refinishing. NanaWall Systems, maker of beautiful folding door systems, just announced a partnership with Lamboo, maker of laminated bamboo, pursuant to which the companies will offer the first door system in the country with laminated bamboo framing. The product will help contribute toward LEED certification in a number of areas, according to a press release.
