Lettuce House was built in China in 2014 by the architecture firm Sustainable Lifestyle Lab. Despite the rather funny name, the house is all about being sustainable. It was built out of repurposed shipping containers, is modular, has a roof garden, and even features a sophisticated waste management and water collection system. (more…)

Sustainable and Affordable Family Home

Tatiana Bilbao, an architect from Mexico has come up with an interesting design for a low cost house, which she revealed at the 2015 Chicago Architecture Biennial. The home she presented can be built for just $8000 and is therefore very suitable as a social housing alternative, and Bilbao is hopeful it will one day be used as such in her home country. (more…)

Build Your Own Solar Power Concentrator
