Vertical Garden at Spanish Hotel Ushüaia is a Green Air Conditioning System

This living wall vertical garden at Hotel Ushüaia de Ibiza in Ibiza, Spain was designed by Urbanarbolismo who were assisted in the construction by Alicante forestal and Alijardín, and was the first greenwall garden system of its type.

Ceramic terracotta containers are interconnected but can retain unique substrates and vegetation. and porosity of the terracotta permits exchange of humidity. Drip and hand irrigation methods accommodate varying watering schedules.

Milan’s Bosco Verticale On Track to Become World’s First Vertical Forest

Milan, Italy is one of Europe’s most polluted cities, its air quality frequently breaching safety limits set by the EU and causing city officials to install a ventilation system in 2009 in an effort to reduce damage to Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper that resides in the Santa Maria delle Grazie church. In 2003, a medical study compared breathing air in Milan to smoking almost a pack of cigarettes each day. New Living Wall Planter by Woolly Pocket

Starting in October 2012, Woolly Pocket will have a new Living Wall Planter available for sale from $26.99, according to the LA Times.  The product isn’t soft like the standard Wally made with 100% recycled PET.  It’s made with hard recycled plastic not to include BPA and equipped with a self-watering tank.  The modular planter may be installed inside or outside and will be available in white, green, brown, gray, black, orange, and yellow.
