The so-called Schoolmasters is a sustainable prefab home, which was recently built near Aberdeen, Scotland. It was constructed following the strict Passivhaus guidelines, though they did not seek the actual certification, because they wanted more freedom in designing it. Most of its energy needs are met by harvesting renewable energy sources.

Small Passive House Can be Built in Just 10 Days

Castlemaine Passivhaus, designed by the Australian architecture firm Carbonlite, was recently awarded the stringent Passive House certification, though the home is far from your typical building to meet this standard. Tiny Prefab House That is Suitable for Cold Climates

Leaf House, designed by Laird Herbert of Canada, is now at Version 3 and according to the designers, it is suitable for living it at -58 °F (-50 °C). The new version is also lighter and larger, but weighs less than the original model. It is perfect for anyone considering a tiny home that they can easily transport to anywhere in the world, including some very cold regions.

Dome Shaped Home Made Entirely of Reclaimed Wood

This beautiful and sustainable home is located in the middle of a lychee garden in China. It was designed and built by the UK furniture design company Timothy Oulton. The dome was constructed using FSC-certified and reclaimed wood and serves as a relaxing retreat for the brand’s designers wishing to escape the hectic city life and replenish their creative stores surrounded by nature.

Another Promising Pop-Up Apartment Solution

The recently introduced Cubitat is another instant apartment solution. It was designed by the Canadian architectural firm Urban Capital and Italian designer Luca Nichetto. The Cubitat cube measures 10 x 10 x 10 feet (3 x 3 x 3 m) and features a kitchen, bedroom, lounging and entertainment area, bathroom, laundry and storage space.
