Salvaged Trailer Turned Into a Tiny Home

It’s always nice to see recycled materials being used to build homes, and when it’s done with tiny homes it’s even more commendable. Ron Rusnak from Ashland, Oregon recently did just that. He turned a decommissioned trailer into a tiny home. He then sold it on Craigslist for $36,500 to a homeowner from Portland.

Shipping Container Business Complex Goes up in London

Pop Brixton is a local business campus, which will soon open its doors in London, UK. It will house independent start-ups and small businesses from the area and the project managers estimate that it will create about 200 jobs by supporting around 80 local entrepreneurs, as well as create 12 apprenticeships being paid by the London Living Wage. Fully Functioning Floating House Made of Shipping Containers

Looking at the pictures of this home, it’s hard to believe it is actually a floating home and not some clever photoshoping. This so-called Floating House was designed and built by Steve and Nick Tidball of the ,TBWA Advertising agency and it is currently floating on the Thames in London, UK.

Tiny Modern Student Dorm

The design firm CannonDesign, or more precisely their design studio Yazdani Studio, recently introduced a unique and modern Sleeping Pod, which will be used as student housing at the University of Utah’s Lassonde Studios. The Sleeping Pod is a fully furnished dorm room, and could also easily be used as a guesthouse, office space, extra bedroom or temporary housing. Read more »

Awesome Office Conversion Using Pallets

Pallets are sturdy and abundant, and therefore a great material for upcycling to meet a number of architecture and design needs. A Tokyo based firm Hiroki Tominaga Atelier recently used them in a unique office space renovation. What’s more, they were able to do so without the end result looking like a DIY project.
