Dome Shaped Home Made Entirely of Reclaimed Wood

This beautiful and sustainable home is located in the middle of a lychee garden in China. It was designed and built by the UK furniture design company Timothy Oulton. The dome was constructed using FSC-certified and reclaimed wood and serves as a relaxing retreat for the brand’s designers wishing to escape the hectic city life and replenish their creative stores surrounded by nature.

Another Promising Pop-Up Apartment Solution

The recently introduced Cubitat is another instant apartment solution. It was designed by the Canadian architectural firm Urban Capital and Italian designer Luca Nichetto. The Cubitat cube measures 10 x 10 x 10 feet (3 x 3 x 3 m) and features a kitchen, bedroom, lounging and entertainment area, bathroom, laundry and storage space.

Almost Like Living Out of a Suitcase

To try and solve this problem, the Spanish architecture firm TallerDE2 designed The Pop-Up House, which is basically a set of modular units designed to make a fully functional home out of any empty room or apartment.

Youth Pastor Builds Shipping Container Homes for the Less Fortunate

Bill Hebner, a former youth pastor from Kelowna, Canada has been building affordable housing for the less fortunate since the 1990s. The first homes he built were made of wood, but more recently, he started using recycled shipping containers as the primary building blocs. Availability, sturdiness, and ease of constructions are the main reasons for this choice.
