Awesome Guesthouse Conversion

Times are hard and they’re not getting better very fast, so a lot of people are forced to find alternate ways of making money. One way is certainly renting out your home or a portion of it, and one of the more creative ways of doing this is certainly this conversion of a laundry boiler room into a guesthouse in San Francisco. The conversion was done by architect Christi Azevedo of Azevedo Design. The owners will now be renting it out via AirBnB and similar services.

Unique Low Impact Treehouse

The so-called Dom’Up is an innovative treehouse, which is easy to install, and has virtually no impact on the trees used to support it. It was created by Holland-based arborculturist Bruno de Grunne and architect Nicolas d’Ursel from the organization Trees and People. The treehouse can be used as an alternative to the classic treehouse, for glamping, or even as a treetop office, resort or even a cool restaurant.

New Mexico Home Power Solely by Solar Energy

Design firm Needbased has recently completed a home in New Mexico, which has achieved both the Passive House Certification as well as meet the highest National Association of House Builders (NAHB) green building standard. Taoshouse, as the home is called, is therefore one of a very US homes few to obtain the certification given out by the Passive House Institute in Germany. This home will also run only on the electricity harvested from the sun.

Dome Shaped Home Made Entirely of Reclaimed Wood
