Dwell Show Prefab to be Sold on eBay

This is the Modern Living Showhouse on display at Dwell on Design 2011.  The green prefab was designed by Jonathan Davis of pieceHomes, built by OneBuild Inc., and styled by Zem Joaquin and ecofabulous.  With 520 square feet, the dwelling is spacious enough to include a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom.  See the interior photos below with a description of green materials and technologies included in the showcase.

The Modern Living Showhouse has some of the following:

  • Electrolux Icon appliances,
  • FSC-certified EcoClad cladding,
  • MechoShade C2C shadecloths,
  • Wicanders cork floors,
  • Recycled-content IceStone counters,
  • Neil Kelly cabinets with Plyboo,
  • Lumens LED lights,
  • Modwalls recycled content tile,
  • A reclaimed maple Stewart Wurtz counter,
  • A dual-flush Caroma toilet,
  • Water-efficient Brizo fixtures, and
  • FSC-certified Eco Arbor Decking tiles.

It was also stocked with Bright Green cleaning products, O Organics foods, Coyuchi organic linens, Organic Mattresses, Inc. mattresses and pillows, HD Buttercup furniture, and a couple solar panels.

More specifically, the wall section is built with 2×4 studs, closed cell foam insulation, VaproShield, and a rain screen exterior of EcoClad and cedar.

The Showhouse will be auctioned on eBay from July 5-15, 2011.  Proceeds will be donated to Global Green USA.  Check out the auction listing at ebay.com/ecofabuloushouse.

    160k/520 sf is 307… who’s going to take the bait with lot, utilities, transport, crane lift, yada-yada still to go?. A competent builder could build that for $200/ft onsite.

    Preston, I think it’s absolutely FAB! I wish it were mine…but yeah, a little pricey when you have to consider the cost to move/transport it! Still love it!
