Toronto-based housing company MEKA — that is, modular, environmental, kinetic, assembly — made national headlines with the launch of small container homes this week. Seeking the ultimate trifecta of style, sustainability, and affordability, this start-up aims to produce “the most luxurious living spaces with a clean modern sensibility, at super affordable prices.”
For that, New York Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Architect’s Newspaper, and others took notice. There’s a 320 square-foot, $39,000 model open in West Village right now, which we’ll mention as soon as we get photos.
ALP320 – pricing from $39,000
VOR640 – pricing from $64,000
THOR1120 – pricing from $112,000
HELA1280 – pricing from $128,000

nice, 5000$ deposit via pay pal
It would be nice to know what is and isn’t included for $39,000. Are Utilities, transport, installation, engineering, Architectural fees, permits etc. included?

go to the website and you can read this for yourself. They do not customize homes – they only have a few plans which is how they offer these so cheaply. No, transport is not included and would be extra. Same with permits – all cities and states are different – how would you expect them to deal with all those.
Smallest unit makes the most style sense. Americans MUST try to live smaller.
My wife and I are building our home out of a shipping container. It is more of a DIY kind of thing… but anyone can follow us on our blog.
