Green Moderne Townhomes in Houston

Home builder, Green Mode Designs, LLC, recently finished this townhouse project on an infill lot near Memorial Park in Houston, Texas. Two of the homes are on the market for $450,000 – $470,000, while the third received LEED Gold certification and is already sold. This solar-powered home, based on the HERS Rating, is 56% more efficient than a standard home and uses 33% less water.

Lush Succulent Wall in Newport Beach

This is one of the largest succulent walls in southern California with 60 individual panels and just under 3,000 succulents.  The massive vertical wall was installed at the True Food Kitchen in Newport Beach and designed by Joe Zazzera.  Plant Solutions specified the wall, plant type, plumbing, irrigation, electricity, and drainage.

The Belmont Earns LEED Silver in Dallas

This project, The Belmont Apartments, is the first apartment community in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to receive LEED Silver, according to UDR, Inc., a multifamily REIT that developed the project.  Located at 2500 Bennett Avenue, Belmont has 464 units in five buildings.  Since its opening, interest from the community has been higher than expected — likely driven by the combination of green aspects and modern design.

Let’s just say you need to know how much power a certain device is using. You can do that with this new product from Belkin. Conserve Insight, available for pre-order on Amazon for $29.99, was designed to help consumers conserve energy. The energy monitor shows you how much a device costs in watts, dollars, and carbon dioxide using preloaded or custom rate information. Belkin also has three other Conserve gadgets available for pre-order should you have the need: Smart AV, Valet, and Socket.
