David Gottfried, founder of the USGBC and owner of this super green home renovation, recently launched a new business consortium with several industry experts, 19 founding member companies, and 60 real estate design, construction, and ownership affiliates. The U.S. Regenerative Network is an invitation only network of green building product manufacturers and service providers with two main goals:
- To help members measure, set goals, and improve organizational sustainability, and
- To bring members to the green building marketplace of design professionals and buyers.
Speaking about his new startup, Gottfried said, "The collaborative model will be the key to success in the 21st century, and will enable us to be here in the 22nd," in a statement.
And the U.S. Regenerative Network is very much a collaboration involving the sharing of best practices and information. In addition, members find new channels for their products and services, while affiliates get access to companies that are on the forefront of sustainability.
Some of the members include Armstrong, Autodesk, Interface, Project Frog, Serious Materials, Sloan, and CleanEdge, while some of the affiliates include Walmart, McDonalds, HOK, Gensler, KEMA, Hines, Google, and William McDonough + Partners.
There is no charge to affiliates, but members pay annual dues, according to Sustainable Industries.
The for-profit venture will have online resources, webinars, consulting support, and bi-annual forums to bring this network of experts, affiliates, and members together. If you're in the industry, this appears to be the kind of network that would be worth participation.
