Update 10/29/09: The Fortino Modern Green Prefab Debuts!

Salem, Oregon based Ideabox has been creating some buzz lately with their new home design, the Fortino, which will be revealed at the Seattle Home Show 2, October 22-25, 2009, at Qwest Field.  After a little coaxing, Ideabox was kind enough to let us see these renderings and a floor plan in anticipation of the big event.  Fortino will include 1,250 square-feet of loft-like living shared between two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchen, dining room, and living room.

If you're really chomping at the bit to see the new home design, a partially finished Fortino will be on display Saturday, October 3, 2009, from 11 am to 4 pm, in conjunction with the Salem Green+Solar Home Tour.

Otherwise, we'll have some additional photos from the Seattle Home Show where Fortino is bound to be a big hit.  It's built with Nichiha and Hardi exterior materials, Higuera vertical bamboo hardwood floors, efficient Kitchenaid appliances, efficient Toto and Kohler fixtures, a tankless water heater, low-VOC paints, a duralast cool roof, Atrium windows, and renewable and recycled content materials.

Like all the other models offered by Ideabox, the company tells me they will sell these at an approachable price.  That's because Ideabox has always been around to create solutions that are green, energy efficient, and attainable — the attainable part being what's missing in a lot of prefab out there.  We'll have pricing updates soon.

We can't wait to see the real Fortino … how about you?

Nice looking. You dont generally see green homes with a big master bedroom and a master bath. I dont know how I could handle a home if I had to share my bathroom with the kids.

This is a very attractive little modern home. How much does this home cost to build?

Very nice design. The floorplan is very sensible, too. I am really curious about the pricing. I like ideabox because they do seem to be keep cost in mind.

This looks like a very practical, cozy design for a home. I think it could create a new wave for future properties that can help with affordable sustainability when looking into green living. I am interested in finding more green homes, either that can be changed for living or built with affordable options for consumers. It would be great to offer these through my real estate company http://www.teamaguilar.com.
