Elements, a New Green Surface Option

Durcon

When it comes picking a green surface material, there's a lot out there to choose from.  And we're going to give you another option, Elements by Durcon.  Elements is made with 10% post-consumer recycled glass, an epoxy resin, and fine quartz.  Available in five main colors, Elements is non-porous and has inherent anti-fungal and anti-microbial characteristics.  The surface does not require sealing, and according to Durcon, it will not off-gas.

Elements can be used in residential applications (countertops, vanities, and fireplace surrounds), as well as for health care, hospitality, convenience stores, food service, and pretty much any other commercial application you can imagine.

The countertop is available in 98" slabs with either a 2 or 3 cm thickness.  It's manufactured in Texas and installs just like a stone countertop.  We'll update this article when we know more about pricing, but until then, check out Elements to see if it will work with your green project.
