Design Shizen for Green Inspiration

I'm psyched to announce and introduce a sister site to Jetson Green called Design Shizen.  Design Shizen was built to become a source of inspiration for people seeking the best information relating to green architecture, news, design, and innovation.  You'll notice that it operates like most community generated content sites out there, namely Reddit, but the big difference is the community behind it.  The Design Shizen community will be readers like you and me: green entrepreneurs, innovators, thinkers, thought leaders, and professionals.  There's a little to explain so keep reading.

What does Design Shizen mean? 
I'll be the first to admit that naming isn't my forte.  Every time I come up with one that works, there's always some squatter loafing on the domain doing nothing but propping that page with a useless splash page of ads.  So after exhausting probably 50 different name ideas with no luck in the domain department, I decided to skip English and go to Japanese.  Nihongo o hanasemasu yo!  The word "shizen" is Japanese for nature, and Design Shizen is meant to be a community that focuses on natural and ecological design.

Why support Design Shizen?
We here at Jetson Green are always on the lookout for the freshest information in the green design world.  It's tough to have ears and eyes in all places, so consider Design Shizen as a place to aggregate high quality links and information.  Self promotion is okay, but only if you're high quality.  Plus, you better believe Jetson Green will use content from Design Shizen as a source of inspiration and to seed new articles.

The website is public to everyone -- we can all benefit.  If you're a publisher with high quality articles, you can submit your links and benefit if the community likes what you offer.  If you're a reader, you can subscribe to the feeds or visit frequently to stay up-to-date on the best information in the green design world.

Beta Period Incentives:
The better the community at Design Shizen, the better the resource for everyone.  So we're going to provide some incentives to get the community going and let you know that we're seriously going to support this resource.  Go create a account and get started.  Here's the first batch of incentives:

• First five people to submit 50 links will receive a copy of Hot, Flat, & Crowded or Worldchanging or Cradle to Cradle.* 
• First three people to get 20+ positive votes on a single link submitted will receive a copy of Hot, Flat, & Crowded or Worldchanging or Cradle to Cradle.* 
• First five people to submit 20 comments will receive a copy of Hot, Flat, & Crowded or Worldchanging or Cradle to Cradle.*

We're looking to spread the incentives among 13 different people, so, for example, if you get 100 links, although we hope you'll comment and vote, you won't be able to win three times.  But that's okay because we're going to do more incentives in the future.  Incentives may seem hokey, but it's our way of saying thanks to the community for making a contribution.  Get started and make a contribution.  Go visit Design Shizen and tells us what you think.
