ACROS Fukuoka (F2)

ACROS Fukuoka
Fukuoka ACROS side

The first time I saw the ACROS Fukuoka building was on MetaEfficient.  As you can see, the building, located in Fukuoka, Japan, has a pretty incredible green roof with about 35,000 plants representing 76 species.  Recently I blogged about the benefits of green roofs, which include increased energy efficiency and better rainwater management.  I understand also that you can climb the outside stairs on holidays and get to the top, king of the mountain-style.  A building like this gets me thinking about the endless possibilities for greening our future.

"F2" is short for "Flickr Friday," a weekly short posted on Friday with an image from Flickr and a quick description.  Feel free to email me your F2 ideas.
